Thousands of people go to their doctor with depression, low mood or anxiety every year, however just one quarter of these people receive help.
The Bristol-based charity Second Step offers help through its Wellbeing Therapies Service to people living in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area, from our base here in the city centre.
Together we will help you get back on track
We are a small friendly team of experienced professionals who will work with you to improve your mental health and well-being. Our therapists aim to help you create goals that are important to you. We can help you to be more assertive in your relationships, gain confidence socially, move back towards work, or maintain the job you have.
We work in a way that suits you – so it could be through telephone support sessions, or maybe you would find it better to work face-to-face with one of our therapists.
We specialise in offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based interventions as these have a good record of effectiveness. We also offer Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) as one of our specialist interventions for trauma.
Our therapists build strong relationships with their clients concentrating on what they want to achieve and do, listening to what is being said and helping to find a way forward.
A truly community service
We pride ourselves on our ability to work with all communities and ethnicities and have therapists with various language skills.
