Stress: Getting the Balance Right

This free course introduces Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as a method of effectively reducing difficult emotions such as stress, anxiety, and low mood.

Topics covered on this course include:

  • Understanding of stress
  • Introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • How stress affects our day-to-day activities
  • Techniques and advice on how to manage symptoms of stress and improve wellbeing
  • How stress affects our thoughts
  • Techniques and advice on how to manage worries and reduce negative thinking

This is a taught course, run in a group format, so although there will be some group discussion it is up to you how much or how little you choose to take part. You will be encouraged to complete worksheets in the sessions to see how strategies may be applicable to you.This course is suitable for persons experiencing mild levels of emotional difficulty.

  • Saturday 16th March (1 day course) 10am – 4pm, Filton Children’s Centre
  • Thursday 18th April (3 week course at the same time each week) 10am – 11.45am, Filton Community Centre
  • Saturday 6th April (1 day course) 10am – 4pm, Filton Children’s Centre
  • Saturday 13th April (1 day course) 10am – 4pm, Yate Children’s Centre

Please note that this course is available to people aged 16 and over who are registered with a GP in South Gloucestershire only.
