Stress and Mood Management Course

Please note that for every person who doesn’t attend a scheduled course, it costs the NHS £70. If you are unable to attend this course, please contact us at least 2 days before the course to cancel or reschedule your place.

This course will run for a single session held on a Saturday between 10:00 am and 4:00pm. Please note that while we provide teas and coffees, we recommend bringing your own lunch.

This free course introduces Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as a method of effectively reducing difficult emotions such as stress, anxiety, and low mood.

Topics covered on this course include:
  • Understanding of stress
  • Introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • How stress affects our day-to-day activities
  • Techniques and advice on how to manage symptoms of stress and improve wellbeing
  • How stress affects our thoughts
  • Techniques and advice on how to manage worries and reduce negative thinking
This is a taught course, run in a group format, so although there will be some group discussion it is up to you how much or how little you choose to take part. You will be encouraged to complete worksheets in the sessions to see how strategies may be applicable to you.

This course is suitable for persons experiencing mild levels of emotional difficulty. If you feel that your needs are more complex, we recommend that you have an initial assessment . To do this you will need to send to us a completed registration form. Please do not register for both a course and an assessment at the same time. If you are booking a place on a Stress and Mood Management Course, please wait until the course has finished to complete the registration form.

If you feel you are at immediate risk to yourself or anyone else please see your GP or call 111.
